Grandmother acting as surrogate delivers healthy granddaughter

A Texas grandmother named Tracey Thompson, who acted as a surrogate for her own daughter and son-in-law has given birth to a healthy baby girl.
Tracey Thompson, 58, stepped forward as a surrogate after watching Kelley MisKissach, 28, and her husband Aaron, struggle with infertility and experience three miscarriages over the past several years.
Despite having already experienced menopause, doctors prepared Thompson’s body for pregnancy, and used the couple’s remaining embryos from their final round of in vitro fertilization (IVF). On Wednesday, baby Kelcey – named in honor of both Tracey and Kelley – arrived weighing 6 pounds 11 ounces.
“It’s such a blessing that I can do this for my daughter,” Thompson said.
